Australian Biathlon is very pleased that our Medical Director, Dr Jane Fitzpatrick, has been appointed to the prestigious International Biathlon Union Medical Committee.
The appointment is for the period 2014-2018.
Dr Fitzpatrick said today: “I am absolutely delighted to be able to represent Australia on the IBU Medical Committee. I look forward to ensuring our athletes have access to the best medical care possible to achieve their goals and contributing to the IBU principles of providing outstanding medical support.”
Dr Fitzpatrick has been the Medical Director for Australian Biathlon for three years. In addition, Dr Fitzpatrick is also the Team Doctor for the Australian Cross Country Ski Team.
A Sports Medicine specialist based in Melbourne, Victoria, Dr Fitzpatrick was a Founding Member of the International Triathlon Union Medical Commission in the 1990’s, and Australian representative from Triathlon Australia. Jane was also Team Doctor for the Australian Triathlon Team for several years.
