Australian Biathlon was very pleased to be invited to participate in the Victorian Junior Target Shooting Championships recently.
Australian Biathlon members Jeremy Flanagan (Under 21), Gabrielle Mahon (Under 16) and Jethro Mahon (Under 18) took part in the event, which was held at Melbourne International Shooting Club.
The event was run under Target Rifle rules, so no magazine loading, only single shot loading. All biathletes used biathlon rifles.
On the Saturday, all three biathletes took part in the three position Sport Rifle event. Shooting while kneeling was quite a novelty for the biathletes! In their respective events, Jeremy Flanagan placed third, Jethro Mahon second and Gabrielle Mahon third.
On the Sunday, the Mahon siblings took part in the 50 metre Prone Rifle event, with Jethro Mahon placing third.
