The International Masters Biathlon Championships (IMBCh) are held every year, generally in March, at the Kontiolahti World Cup Centre in Finland. Those aged over 35 are able to participate.
There are usually Individual, Sprint and Relay events, with Relay teams able to be made up from “multinations”.
Australia has had many medallists at this annual event, including gold medallists Lindsay Bridgford, Bob Cranage OAM, Irene Dunn, Lynn-Maree Cullen and Sue Donoghoe.
In March 2014 IMBCh, founding member of Australian Biathlon, Bob Cranage OAM (Wodonga, VIC), added another gold and another silver to his swag of medals collected over several years. Bob’s age group was the Men 70-74. Photos courtesy of Biathlon Masters International Championships: https://www.facebook.com/BiathlonMasters
