Retrans from Australian Olympic Committee: Darcie’s blog | From World Juniors to Lillehammer
“Last week I had a chance to compete at the World Junior Championships in Romania which was a really positive experience.
I had some of the best races and results in my life, coming 16th in the individual with 3 mistakes (0,1,0,2), 33rd in the sprint (1,1), 25th in the pursuit (0,0,1,2) and in the relay going off first, i shot 0,0 and finished my leg of the relay in 8th place!
I’m now back in Livigno, training and studying (as school has started) for the last few days before flying out to Lillihammer.
Having these great results in such a high level international race where the girls are around 3 years older than me and so much more developed has made me even more exited about racing in the Youth Olympic Games and how I will compare to the other girls my own age around the world.
Darcie”
