It’s been a huge week and a half with camps in Sydney and Melbourne!
Over 30 members in each city participated in the various activities, which were held over several days. We had sessions for Development, High Performance and Masters level athletes and in addition, there were also two seshes for biathlon officials; these were designed improve the ABA’s capacity in that area. Athlete seshes included shooting training, along with rollerskiing/Skiking training.
All seshes were run by High Performance Coach Luca Bormolini, assisted by international guest coaches Emil and Martina, with admin support from local members.
First up was Sydney, with events based at Hornsby Rifle Range, where all ABA events are held in NSW. This was followed up by seshes based at Melbourne International Shooting Club.
Many thanks to our fantastic coaches, who ran much appreciated sessions; big thanks to our Sydney Convenor John Joyce, and our Melbourne Convenor Charles Clarke, who organised the schedules, including a massive dinner, attended by friends and family.
This was a great way for the Australian Biathlon family to get together prior to meeting up on the white stuff at Mount Hotham.
