Our Annual General Meeting Day 2016 was awesome!
It began at 8:30 am and did not finish until more than twelve hours later, a big day out!
We began with shooting drills and other training on the 50 metre electronic range at our preferred Melbourne venue, Melbourne International Shooting Club (MISC) in Fishermans Bend. MISC was the site of various 2006 Commonwealth Games shooting events.Several Australian Biathlon members train regularly at MISC, including 2016 Winter Youth Olympic biathlete Jethro Mahon.
After shooting, we rollerskiied, managing to duck at least some of the rain that fell during the training sesh.
After lunch, we had our St John Ambulance Defibrillator Training with presenter Kim Nance. This training session, along with the supply of a defibrillator machine for the Hotham Biathlon Arena, was made possible by our successful application to the Victorian Government’s Defibrillators for Sporting Clubs and Facilities Program 2015-2019.
After our AGM, members and guests enjoyed a delicious dinner and catching up at the German Club Tivoli.
It was a great day out, many thanks to the organisers and to everyone who came, especially all those who made the trip from Albury/Wodonga and Sydney to take part.
